18650的意思是，直徑18毫米，長(zhǎng)65毫米。而5號(hào)電池的型號(hào)是14500，直徑14毫米，長(zhǎng)50毫米。一般18650的電池在工業(yè)上用的比較多，民用的很少，常見的也就在筆記本電池和高檔手電上用的比較多。18650只是電池的尺寸型號(hào)，根據(jù)電池種類還能分為，鋰離子的18650，磷酸鐵鋰的18650，鎳氫的18650（很少見），目前常見的18650是鋰離子的。


我們都知道18650鋰電池和5號(hào)電池都是圓柱型電池，而這兩種電池在容量和材質(zhì)上是有本質(zhì)區(qū)別的。 
從外形上分析：這兩種電池都屬于圓柱型電池，只是外形的規(guī)格是不一樣的。18650鋰電池的規(guī)格是直徑18毫米，長(zhǎng)65毫米；而5號(hào)電池（其實(shí)5號(hào)電池的學(xué)名是14500電池）的規(guī)則是直徑14毫米，長(zhǎng)50毫米。


從種類上分析：18650鋰電池可分為18650鋰離子電池,18650磷酸鐵鋰電池,18650鎳氫電池；而5號(hào)電池則有鎳氫充電電池、鎳鎘充電電池、堿性鋅錳電池（簡(jiǎn)稱“堿性電池”）、普通酸性鋅錳電池（簡(jiǎn)稱“普通電池”）等；


從應(yīng)用上來分析：18650鋰電池多應(yīng)用與工業(yè)上，民用比較少，一般也只有在在筆記本電池和高檔手電電池的使用；而5號(hào)電池基本都是民用電池，大都是應(yīng)用于小電器和數(shù)碼產(chǎn)品中，當(dāng)然也有少量運(yùn)用在工業(yè)上。


當(dāng)然強(qiáng)光手電中使用18650的電池趨勢(shì)越來越大了，18650鋰電池因用戶體驗(yàn)效果好，所以也一直被用戶認(rèn)可，5號(hào)電池一般用在強(qiáng)光手電筒中可拆卸，一般來講也是比較方便，但使用時(shí)間要比18650鋰電池的時(shí)間要短，當(dāng)然前提是電池的容量。
